How Much Money Do I Need to Buy a House in Murfreesboro, TN?

1. Down Payment

You do not always need 20% down. In fact, many buyers use:

3. Move-In Money and Emergency Fund

It is also wise to set aside a little extra for:

A Simple Example

Let’s say you are buying a $400,000 home in Rutherford County with 5% down:

Down payment: $20,000
Estimated closing costs (3%): $12,000

Total estimated cash to close: $32,000, plus whatever you choose to set aside for moving and reserves.
